JT Multisport June 2023 Newsletter

This June was a month of celebration. We celebrated having our squad back together after a squad break as well as the 22/23 seasons at both the JTM Gala and TACT awards night. These nights are a great opportunity for our athletes to celebrate with their squadmates and the broader triathlon community.

The JTM Gala night saw our male and female performance of the year awards presented before the big one - our JTM Values award. Congratulations to our award winners on the night.

Female Performance of the Year - Kristie Caplikas
Male Performance of the Year - Tom Driscoll
JTM Values Award - Stephanie Anderson

The TACT Awards night followed with a great evening celebrating the season with the other TACT clubs and the TACT staff and board. Congratulations to the following JTM members who were honoured for special awards on the night.

Male Athlete of the Year - Jacob Flanagan

Female Athlete of the Year - Grace Hoitink

Age Group Athlete of the Year - Georgie Hicks

Novice of the Year - Connor Barbe

Rad Leovic Senior Athlete of the Year - Leeanne Tennant

Athlete Spotlight

Polly Templeton

One of JTM’s longest and most consistent athletes both at training and racing, Polly’s dedication to her triathlon and her club is unmatched. Polly is always one of the first to put her hand up to volunteer and has previously served on the board of TACT. Her volunteering efforts regularly see Polly nominated for awards at a club and state level.

Polly’s dedication to her training are such that she once completed a bike session in her slippers after arriving to squad without her bike shoes one winter morning. When others would’ve gone home for the day, Polly found a way to make it happen and get the session done.

Keep up the awesome work Polly!
