JT Junior Triathlon

Junior triathlon in the ACT is back!

With a history of producing world class triathletes, Canberra – the endurance capital of the world is once again home to a premium junior triathlon environment thanks to the JTM Junior Triathlon Program.

Whether you’re looking to participate in triathlon for fun, fitness and friendship or you have dreams of wearing the green and gold and emulating Canberra triathlon heroes such as Jackie Fairweather, Simon Thompson or current day JTM members Ellie Hoitink, Chloe Bateup, Jarrod Osborne and Kurt McDonald, the JTM Junior Triathlon Program is for you.

Weekly Training Schedule

Weekly Coached Sessions (5 per week):

·       Monday: Run – 4:30–5:15 PM - Stromlo Forrest Park (Summer,) Henry Rolland Park (Winter.)

·       Wednesday: Ride – 4:30–5:30 PM (CCC crits in summer for capable riders) – Stromlo Forrest Park.

·       Thursday: Swim – 4:30–5:30 PM - Lakeside Leisure Centre.

·       Friday: Run – 4:30–5:15 PM – Tuggeranong Park.

·       Saturday: Ride – 10:00–11:00 AM – Stromlo Forrest Park.

 

Coaching Options


Option 1: Squad Only – $500/school term

·       Access to all five weekly coached sessions

Option 2: Personalised Coaching – $375/month

·       Includes weekly squad sessions during school terms

·       Weekly custom programming via Training Peaks

·       Communication and feedback via training Peaks, TeamApp & in person

·       Race planning, season goal setting, and progress reviews

Eligibility:

·       Ages 11–19

·       Must be a current member of Aus Triathlon and JT Multisport for the season

Pre-requisites/ requirements:

·       Able to swim 200m freestyle continuously without stopping

·       Has an age-appropriate bike that is well serviced/ maintained

·       A bicycle helmet that complies with The Australian/New Zealand standard AS/NZS 2063:2020 (Look for The AS/NZS 2063:2020 sticker on the inside of the helmet)

·       Appropriate running shoes replaced minimum every 6-12month depending on use
